Participants will have learned after doing this workshop:
The field of design offers at set of methods and tools for solving complex problems and for developing beautiful, functinal and thought-through solutions. We are going to dive into the design proces, learn about different design methods and get our hands dirty when going through a design experience. You will learn about the 6C model that guides you throught a design proces and you will get hands-on experience with using design methods in you own artistic practise. 
All fields of practice is welcome!

What materials/equipment/other things participants need to bring to be able to do this workshop:
A few simple materials/tools from your own field of art: If you are a painter, bring som pens or paint. If you are a musician, bring your instrument. If you are a photographer bring you camera. If you are a dancer, bring your body ( easy one:) ).
It is not sure, that you are going to use what you brought – you might end up sketching/prototyping in another media than you are used to.

Content of this workshop:  
I will introduce you to the Design proces through a model called 6C. Then we will put the model to action by going through chosen design methods of collecting inspiration, conceptualizing and prototyping. I will ask you to bring you own field of art into the proces and you will end up with ideas/skechtes/prototypes/concepts for future projects to be developed.
Together we will explore what design can do in the fields of visual arts, music, dance, theater, photography etc.

  • Introduction of Maria Viftrup and examples of her work
  • Introduction to design methods and the 6C Design Proces Model
  • Workshop: I will guide you in using chosen design methods to generate ideas for your artistic projects
  • Workshop: Sketching / prototyping / 'Jamming'
  • Evaluation and thanks for now
