Cornelius Poepel is audiodesigner, violist and researcher. He is Professorfor Audio Producing since 2008 and audio research Professor since 2015 at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences. He performed world wide as orchestra-violist with conductors like Claudio Abbado or Peter Eötvös and in experimental performances using the laptop, bowed stringed synthesizers and several musical interfaces. He holds a PhD in music and developed a new method of synthesis called Audio Signal-Driven Sound Synthesis. He currently is doing research in the usage of immersive sound for rehabilitation and wellness purposes within the framework of the Listen(n) project (ecolisten.org). Former students of Cornelius founded companies like soundbrenner.com (inventor of soundbrenner pulse), are working as researchers in the field of psychoacoustics or music informatics, are performing on stage as (electronic) musicians, are working in the field of web design, film sound design, e-learning development, social media design or user experience design. Artistic media installations he was doing with his students have been presented at places like Berliner Dom, Bachhaus Eisenach, Opera House Melbourne, Vivid Festival Sydney or the international Bachwochen Ansbach.
