Peter Smith

Peter S Smith is a Painter/Printmaker with a studio at the St Bride Foundation, Bride Lane, Fleet St, London where he is Wood Engraver in Residence and teaches workshops in Wood Engraving and Relief Printing.

He studied at: Birmingham School of Art and Design: (BA (Hons) Fine Art 1969
Manchester Polytechnic: Post Graduate Certificate of Education 1970
Wimbledon School of Art: MA (Printmaking) 1992.

Head of the School of Art and Design Kingston College 1983 - 2010

Further Education Sector representative on the National Society for Education in Art and Design (NSEAD) Council 2002 to 2005; 2nd Vice President from 2005 to 2007

Member of the Society of Wood Engravers.

Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE).

In September 2006, Piquant Editions published a book about his printmaking called “The way I see it….” With an Introductory essay by Calvin Seerveld.

He exhibits paintings and prints in the UK and overseas with work in public and private collections.
